CO PRESIDENTS: Tessa Loera (left) Rafaela Bustamante (right) Class of 2012
Tessa: I chose to be on the Girls Service League because I wanted to make a positive impact in both Poly and the surrounding community. I enjoy reaching out to others and helping them become more involved while having fun at the same time. The GSL cabinet hopes to donate to others in need as well as better the relationships between lower and upperclassmen girls.

VICE PRESIDENT: Monique Bartley Class of 2012
The Girls Service League is something that I became interested in freshman year when I saw the great impact it had on the Poly community. As I became more educated about the mission GSL sets out to achieve, community service was a big factor, but the idea of being a role model on campus for girls made the the job even more appealing. I'm so excited for the 2011-2012 school year because we have a great set of ladies and I know we will be making a difference not only in the lives of Poly students, but in the greater community around us.
SECRETARY: Britt Gates-Kayyem Class of 2012
I wanted to be and am honored to be GSL secretary because I want to help the community more, and I feel like GSL is the perfect avenue to achieve this. I've always participated in different community service activities, but I want to be an active participant in getting others to help the community with me. This year, I think the GSL cabinet is motivated to take that step in getting our peers to make a difference in the Los Angeles community. I can't wait to get my friends involved, have fun, and make new friends, all while making the L.A. area a better place.

TREASURER: Sitara Hirji Class of 2012
I am so excited and honored to be your 2011-2012 GSL Treasurer! Although I have already been an active member of the Poly community in previous school years, I’ve always wanted to find a service organization to be a part of; GSL is the perfect match. Last year I had an awesome experience with my little sister Rachel and I knew that I wanted to be a part of the cabinet to continue the positive impact it has not only on the Poly community, but on the greater society as well. I am so thrilled to be working with the girls on this year’s cabinet; I couldn’t have asked for a better team. I know this year’s GSL will be an active, energetic, and fun group on campus, and it will definitely help make this school year one to remember.

CO JUNIOR REPRESENTATIVES: Kelly Liu (left) & Katie Wardlaw (right) Class of 2013
Kelly: I had always heard of GSL but running for a position never really caught my attention until I saw my sister having so much fun. I helped her out a lot during the year, and despite the work I had a lot of fun. I wanted to continue to help and I had been particularly interested in junior reps because I had so many ideas and plans that I wanted to conduct in the future. When Katie Wardlaw approached me and told me that she was really interested as well I knew it was fate.
Katie: I am really excited to be a member of the Girls Service League this year and to work with Kelli and the rest of the cabinet. Ever since freshman year, I have wanted to be a part of GSL. The cabinet members looked like they were always having a lot of fun, but more importantly, they were helping those in need and making a difference in the community. GSL makes community service fun, involves everyone, and holds many enjoyable events like the dance, the dance show, and the big sister/little sisters lunches and sleepovers. I was so happy when Kelli told me she wanted to be a part of GSL as well, and I cannot wait for the next two years as a member of the GSL cabinet!
